The Zoo

Last weekend I needed some cheering up after a long long week and Matt took me to the zoo. It was awesome!!! Here are a few pictures from our excursion. I bet you can't tell what I liked the most:

This is what we saw on the way back after the storm. So pretty.

Happy Belated Birthdays!!!!!!!!!

August 24th is always a special day to me. It's my momma &
sister's birthdays!!! Happy belated birthdays. (don't worry I called and sang to them, off key as usual!). Katie turned 17 this year. I can't believe she is getting so old! It blows my mind. I won't tell how old my momma is (she'll appreciate that!). Thes pictures are my sister & I at Natural Bridge in Kentucky last labor day, almost one year ago. The other one is my momma and dad at dinner when I went home to get my car. Its from a while ago. I can't wait to see them this weekend! I'm so excited!!!

Awesome Movie

I watched 300 the other day. Loved loved loved it! It is a must see movie. I doubt its completely 100% accurate but there are a lot of parts based on truth. The battle scenese are awesome and the men are hott! The main character's workout for the 6 months leading up to the shooting of the film was featured in last month's Men's Health magazine. Check it out if you want to be ripped! My favorite line, which was actually said by the queen to the king in real life as he was leaving is this: "Come home with your shield or on it" Wow!

Fall Schedule

All the cadets are back, moving in, and class schedules are out. That means school is about to start (Thursday actually). AWWWWW Save me please! Only 2 more semester to go. 294 more days, but who's counting? This semester I'm taking 21 credit hours again including abnormal pyschology, learning & memory, leadership, joint & coalition operations (borring), geospatial data analysis (more boredom), astro (wanting to cry) and an independent study/teaching assistant thing (still up in the air). I'm also taking a skydiving class!!!!!! How exciting is that? Its the only place in the U.S. where your 1st jump is solo, not tandem (hooked onto someone else). I think my parents are going to get to see me jump when they are out here Labor Day. It's really exciting.

Music Touches the Soul

I've been listening to a lot of Kelly Clarkson lately. This song came on and the lyrics just stopped me in my tracks. This is what I want:
I want a love
I want a fire
To feel the burn
My desires
I wanna man by my side
Not a boy who runs and hides
Are you gonna fight for me?
Die for me?
Live and breathe for me?
Do you care for me?
'Cause if you don't then just leave

HAHA Asault Course Pictures

A friend sent out some pictures he took while down in Jack's Valley, including at the assault course. Here are a few for your entertaining pleasure. Don't laugh too hard! (I promise I'm not that mean):
Go back!
Get at port arms
Get 'em haha
My rubber ducky which you carried around if you couldn't carry your own weapon.
On a serious note, the basic I made cry asked me to pin on his shoulder boards next week at the Aceptance Day Parade. I couldn't be more touched and humbled!! I'll have to make sure he knows I'm not a mean person later.
