Pictures from Matt's birthday party
I threw a suprise party for him at a local bar with a bunch of our friends the weekend after his birthday. He thought I had forgotten about it because I was home during his birthday, so it was a good suprise (or would had been had he not read about it the night before on his roommate's computer he told me later). We had a lot of fun hanging out with our friends and I think it was a pretty good birthday present!
Tash & I (its was 80's night apparently, she did it well!)
Only at Camp USAFA
We got these *new* dean & commodant approved "Sippie Cups" that are supposed to be spill proof so now we can bring any non-alcoholic drink to class (yes, that's in the rules) where before we could only bring water. These things cost $7.25 to buy but probably cost 50 cents to make. They leak and spill all the time. And if you put anything hot in them, it leaks out the side because the plastic expands. They didn't think this one through very well. Some of my friends' cups have already broke and we just got them this week. Its amazing the silly things the military does but i just salue and say yes sir/ma'am.
Slow Me Down
This is the new video from Emmy Rossum. I've never heard of her but I liked the song. Sometimes I feel like the world is going so fast I'm missing it & I need to slow down. Snagged from Just Jared.

Your prayers are needed!
Please pray for my little sister. She is 17, is a starter on the volleyball team hoping to play at Wake Forest, smart as can be in all AP classes, and junior class president. She loves life and she has everything going for her. But she was admited to the hospital today and is really really sick. She has been running a fever of 102-103 and is throwing up. They thikn her brain might be swollen and she goes in and out of consciousness & has passing out spells. She also has periods demenia and doesn't know who she is or where she is at and just mumbles but makes no sense when she talks. The doctors don't know what is wrong
with her but they think it could be a viral infection of some kind. They have worked her up down for everything under the sun to no avail. If is viral, the doctors can't do anything so it will have to run its course. Please keep her and my family in your prayers. This is a really hard time for all of us, especially afte the funeral last week. Also pray for the doctors that they can figure out what is going on with her. I feel so helpless right now because I can't be there for her. I pray to God she gets better really soon.

Iraq & September 11th
My grandmother sent me an email today with this little tid bit of information. It's very interesting. If anyone wants to verify the accuracy let me know, but I belive it. Thanks, Granny for the email!
We will never forget that fateful day. It is why we are still fighting & with out
that fight, we could have another sad day like that one. Remember why we are fighting the fight we are, whether you understand it or not. We don't want to repeat that day in history again & we have to fight so we don't. Freedom is not free! To all of the people lost on that day and all of the soldiers who have so bravelly given their lives since then for that fight: Thank You.
Did you know?
1. The Garden of Eden was in Iraq
2. Mesopotamia, which is now Iraq, was the cradle of civilization!
3. Noah built the ark in Iraq
4. The Tower of Babel was in Iraq
5. Abraham was from Ur, which is in Southern Iraq
6. Isaac's wife Rebekah is from Nahor, which is in Iraq
7. Jacob met Rachel in Iraq
8. Jonah preached in Nineveh - which is in Iraq
9. Assyria, which is in Iraq, conquered the ten tribes of Israel
10. Amos cried out in Iraq
11. Babylon, which is in Iraq, destroyed Jerusalem
12. Daniel was in the lion's den in Iraq
13. The three Hebrew children were in the fire in Iraq (Jesus had been in Iraq also as the fourth person in the Fiery Furnace!)
14. Belshazzar, the King of Babylon saw the 'writing on the wall' in Iraq
15. Nebuchadnezzar, King of Babylon, carried the Jews captive into Iraq
16. Ezekiel preached in Iraq
17. The wise men were from Iraq
18. Peter preached in Iraq
19. The 'Empire of Man' described in Revelation is called Babylon, which was a city in Iraq
Israel is the nation most often mentioned in the Bible.
But do you know which nation is second? It is Iraq!
No other nation, except Israel, has more history and prophecy associated
With it than Iraq.
However, that is not the name that is used in the Bible.
The names used in the Bible are Babylon, Land of Shinar, and Mesopotamia... The word Mesopotamia means between the two rivers, more exactly between the Tigris & Euphrates Rivers.
The name Iraq, means country with deep roots.
Indeed Iraq is a country with deep roots and is a very significant country in the Bible.
Also, something to think about: America is typically represented by an eagle. Saddam should have read up on his passages...
The following verse is from the Koran (the Islamic Bible). Note the verse number:
Koran (9:11) - For it is written that a son of Arabia would awaken a fearsome Eagle.. The wrath of the Eagle would be felt throughout the lands of Allah and lo, while some of the people trembled in despair still more rejoiced; for the wrath of the Eagle cleansed the lands of Allah; And there was peace.

To all of the people lost on that day and all of the soldiers who have so bravelly given their lives since then for that fight: Thank You. I hate the dentist!
I went to the dentist today...always a horrible experience. I've hated the dentist since I was a little kid & they used to put me in the "quiet room" because I was bad. I always thought that if I didn't brush my teeth, I wouldn't have to go. Its amazing the logic of a kid. Sometimes I wish I still reasoned like that (luckily my teeth are happy I don't & yes dad, I brush at least twice a day). However, I still feel like they do crap they don't need to. Today, the lady cleaned my teeth so hard, I thought they were going to fall out when she was done. There is no need for that. Or last like last time, when the tech lied to me. She asked to put 4 sealants on my teeth to "protect them" and ended up actually putting on 8 & doing a filling after I was at my regular dentist less than a month before and was told my teeth looked great. It pissed me off! The military dentists aren't that great & I'll be happy to get away from the ones here at the Academy who I really think do whatever they want just for the experience & practice whether you need it done or not. I wonder if everyone has horror stories from the dentist like me? It seems to be a common occurance around school. Maybe again that's just the military dentists. Protect your teeth! Don't let them near them!Funerals
I just got back from Kentucky last night after a funeral. I was lucky enough to be given leave in order to get to go home for the services and to see my family. Its funny and very sad how the only time you see most of the family is at weddings or funerals. It was really hard to be home for that and it made me really sad. I did ok untill I saw my grandpa looking at his brother in the casket (who was like a grandfather to me as well) and start to cry. It made me cry on the spot and makes me cry right now just thinking about it. This postcard I found a while back (before all of this) pretty much sums up what I was thinking at the time I saw him cry: I hope the next time I have to come home for something like this it isn't for him.
He's 77 and has had a slew of health problems recently that seem to be getting worse. It makes me so so sad to even think about. I hope he doesn't get too sick in the near future so he will be around for big events in my life like graduation, my wedding, and hopefully to see my first child born and I hope i'm not being selfish wanting that. Please God, grant me that one wish.To all my family reading this: I love you very much and probably don't tell you nearly enough!!

Sadie
My little Sadie is getting so big, just look at her! No only is she a smart puppy, she is also an interior decorator (reduing my mom's curtain's and Spanish Moss in the plants) but she is also a gardener (fixing my mom's flower beds & adding much needed holes). I think she's in her "terrible two's" phase, but you have to remember, she is just a puppy! She loves to be outside and loves to play with another puppy down the street. She plays with every toy she owns and some things that aren't toys like socks! She can jump up on the couch and the beds now and checks everything out. Her favorite spot in the house is laying on the cool tile under the kitchen table. Look at how adorable she is. I love her and miss her so much.
