Rockies

So in a sad newsbreak, my poor Colorado Rockies lost the world series. :( The Boston Red Sox beat them in a 4-0 sweep. Geeze. Poor poor Rockies. So dissapointing. I wish they could have at least put up a fight and won one game, just one game, or maybe not have been slaughtered 13-1 in the first game. Oh well, there is always next year I guess but I won't be here to see them. Its ok, Colorado still loves you, even though the whole city of Denver cried last night.

Trick-or-Treat!

Trick-or-treat. Smell my feet. Give me something good to eat! haha
Here are a few pictures from my weekend trick-or-treating! Friday night we trick-or-treating around school with Big Brothers Big Sisters. Tariah and Quinton were so cute. Saturday we went downtown dressed up and had a blast. There are some interesting costumes out there. It was so much fun and I got so many compliments on how cute my costume was and how cute Matt & I were as a matching couple. It was lots of fun!
The BBBS pausing from candy collection. Quinton was a cadet and his big, Eric, was a bananna?
Tariah was a cheerleader.
How cute are we?
Cassic caveman, grunting and stuff.
We were being bored waiting for our ride.

A little something to brighten your day and make you think...

George Constanza’s Words of Wisdom:
“The most unfair thing about life is the way it ends. I mean, life is tough. It takes up a lot of your time. What do you get at the end of it? A death. What’s that, a bonus?!? I think the life cycle is all backwards. You should die first and get it out of the way. Then you go live in an old age home. You get kicked out for being too healthy, go collect your pension, then, when you start work, you get a gold watch on your first day. You work forty years until you’re young enough to enjoy your retirement. You drink alcohol, you party, and you get ready for High School. You go to primary school, you become a kid, you play, you have no responsibilities, you become a little baby, you go back, you spend your last 9 months floating with luxuries like central heating, spa, room service on tap, then you finish off as an orgasm!! Amen.”

"When you're young, your whole life is about the pursuit of fun. Then, you grow up and learn to be cautious. You could break a bone or a heart. You look before you leap and sometimes you don't leap at all because there's not always someone there to catch you. And in life, there's no safety net. When did it stop being fun and start being scary?" ~Carrie, Sex &The City

Definitely Southern!

Far all of you that say I'm not from the South (hmmm Matt), it was proven today that I do in fact have a Southern accent. If you want to find out what kind of accent you have, check out the quiz. It's pretty cool and doesn't take long at all. Take the quiz here
What American accent do you have?
Your Result: The South

That's a Southern accent you've got there. You may love it, you may hate it, you may swear you don't have it, but whatever the case, we can hear it.

Bible Verse of the Night

In those days you were living apart from Christ. You were excluded from God's people, Israel, and you did not know the promises God had made to them. You lived in this world without God and without hope.

World Series Starts Tonight

Game one of the World Series is tonight. The Boston Red Sox host the Colorado Rockies at 8pm EST (6PM here) and it can be seen on FOX. The Rockies have won the last 21/22 of their games and swept the league! This is the first time they have ever made it to the Series. Go Rockies!!!!! Games 3, 4, & 5 will be in Denver this weekend, but the tickets sold out in about 1 minute and now you can only find them online for $600. So sad we can't go :( We'll just have to watch it on TV like the rest of America. Check it out!
Teddy is pretty excited for it too.

Happy Anniversary!

Today is Matt & my one year anniversary, yea! He was supposed to have an away rugby game today at CSU (which was cancled because of the 6'' of snow on the ground) so we celebrated last weekend. He took me to this wine tasting place called Wines of Colorado, where you can taste all kinds of Colorado wines. I didn't know that Colorado could grow such good grapes. We had dinner and two bottles of wine, then we went to the Broadmoor. It was a lot of fun. Here are some pictures from the awesome celebration.

Pumpkins

We went to the pumpkin patch today and found our pumpkins! It was so much fun trying to find the right one. Too bad the pumpkin patch was tiny, not like the one back home with hay rides and weird animals, but it was still awesome! We were definitely the biggest kids there! hehe We also got stuff to carve them and for me to pass out candy on Friday to all the little trick-or-treaters at school. I'll let you know what our pumpkins look like after we carve them. We're waiting a few days so they don't go bad before the weekend!

Halloween costumes

We found our halloween costumes today! I'm very excited. They are too cute! I am a cave cuttie and Matt is King of the caves. I'm happy we finally found something because this Friday night we are trick-or-treating with my Little, Tariah, for Big Brothers Big Sisters and then Saturday night we are going somewhere for Halloween (where is still up in the air). I hope everyone is having luck finding their costumes.

PS my bear is being a Pirate! ARG Mate!!

What I love about fall

The seasons are changing and fall around here last about 2 days before winter creeps in. As I was out in the last nice day of the year (tomorrow the high is supposed to be 35 and its supposed to snow), I was thinking about all the things I love about fall. I miss having all 4 seasons in Kentucky and I definately miss fall because its my favorite season. I'm not looking forward to a cold, windy winter. The only thing that makes it worth it is the snow up on the mountains so I can board!! Anyways, here are some of the reason why I absolutely love fall!
warm sweaters
scarves, gloves, and hats

warm apple ciderpumpkin pie (my favorite)!!!

What I would say right now...

Sorry if this offends anyone but most of us think these things at some point or another so why not say them.

Sex & the City

The girls are back and are filming the movie in NYC, Yea!! They all look great and Carrie is making fashion statements like crazy. I can't wait for the movie to come out.

Mr. Big is back too!! Are they getting married? I think they should.
But is Carrie staying blond...
Or going brunette? That's the question.
P.S. Stanford is finally back. Thank Gawd. (quoted just as he would say it hehe)

Think Pink

So I'm up at 3:30 in the morning because I just woke up from a terrible dream where someone was trying to kill me! Scary stuff!!! So I started surfing the internet to take my mind off of it and found the cutest thing and its PINK!
ThisNext has compiled an excellent "think pink" shopping guide in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness month. Check out all the excellent pink goods! I seriously like a lot of the things including the lip gloss, the stationery, and all the kitchen & cookware just to name a few! Check it out.

Evolution

One day a 6 year old girl was sitting in a classroom. The teacher was going to explain evolution to the children. The teacher asked a little boy: Tommy do you see the tree outside?
TOMMY: Yes.
TEACHER: Tommy, do you see the grass outside?
TOMMY: Yes.
TEACHER: Go outside and look up and see if you can see the sky
TOMMY: Okay. (He returned a few minutes later) Yes, I saw the sky.
TEACHER: Did you see God up there?
TOMMY: No.
TEACHER: That's my point. We can't see God because he isn't there. Possibly he just doesn't exist.

A little girl spoke up and wanted to ask the boy some questions. The teacher agreed and the little girl asked the boy: Tommy, do you see the tree outside?
TOMMY: Yes.
LITTLE GIRL: Tommy do you see the grass outside?
TOMMY: Yessssss!
LITTLE GIRL: Did you see the sky?
TOMMY: Yessssss!
LITTLE GIRL: Tommy, do you see the teacher?
TOMMY: Yes
LITTLE GIRL: Do you see her brain?
TOMMY: No
LITTLE GIRL: Then according to what we were taught today in school, her brain doesn't exist and therefore doesn't have one!
(You Go Girl!)

Doom

Have you ever heard that a dog “knows” when an earthquake is about to hit?
Have you ever heard that a dog can “sense” when a tornado is stirring up, even twenty miles away?
Do you remember hearing that, before the December tsunami struck Southeast Asia , dogs started running frantically away from the seashore, at breakneck speed?
I’m a firm believer that animals — especially dogs — have keen insights into the Truth. And you can’t tell me that dogs can’t sense a potentially terrible disaster well in advance. Simply said, a good ol’ hound dog just KNOWS when something isn't right ,when impending doom is upon us . . .

Pumpkins

Being a Christian is like being a pumpkin. God lifts you up, takes you in, and washes all the dirt off of you. He opens you up, touches you deep inside and scoops out all the yucky stuff-- including the seeds of doubt, hate, greed, etc. Then He carves you a new smiling face and puts His light inside you to shine for all the world to see. This was passed on to me from another pumpkin. Now, it is your turn to pass it to a pumpkin. I liked this enough to share it with all the pumpkins in my patch. Happy Fall!

I hate smoking!!!

Eww and I used to really like her (she's from Grey's anatomy and Knocked Up). She's cute and she funny and I love her character on Grey's right now, execpt that she's trying to get George to leave his wife but that's another story. Why did Katherine Heigle have to go and ruin her image to me? Dang it. And get this...its rumored that most of the Grey's cast smokes too. EWWWWW!!!

PS Grey's rocked tonight! I'm glad Merideth and Lacy are talking.

Halloween Costume

So I'm thinking about being Queen Gorgo for Halloween and Matt is going to be a Spartan (which he totally has the body for, if you've seen the movie then you know what I mean). I found a couple of cute costumes for it online and I'm going to look at a few place around town. What do we think? Its quickly approaching and I want to get a costume before they sell out or its too late to ship.

I love Kate Walsh!

I watched Private Practice tonight, another new favorite show, and the more I see it the more I love Kate Walsh! She is awesome and her character reminds me a lot of me though I couldn't explain how or why. If you haven't seen the show, you must watch it on ABC on Wednesday nights!
