My Celebrity Twin

According to an online quiz my celebrity twin is:

Kate Hudson
Your ideal life is that of a Bohemian beach bum. You're the quintessential fun girl - the one all the guys want to hang out with for her natural beauty and laid-back attitude. Like Kate, you embrace the hippie lifestyle and are a free spirit. You need a man who can make you laugh, and you understand how hard marriage and relationships can be. (Kate has said she never wanted to know if her soon-to-be ex-husband, Chris Robinson, was cheating on her). You form close bonds with your immediate family but can separate the good people in your life from those who are poor influences.

I was happy with the results. She is beautiful, fun, and I love her movies.

Too Cute!

This cute little Thai bear can't keep his eyes open. It kinda reminds me of someone right now...me! Watch the little bear falling asleep. Check out his smooshed nose as he almost falls into the bowl.

Cleaning

The only thing really bothering me is the inspection in the morning. The good news...this is my last one EVER!!! That's very exciting to say!

BRRRRRRRRRR!

Ok...so it is the end of April and it is freezing outside. Its about 40 degrees out but there is an ARTIC wind which makes being outside misserable! Plus the wind is blowing so hard you can't walk against it because it will stop you in your tracks or throw you backwards. Can't it just get warm already? This is why I'm ready to get out of this state and back to the south where it is warm! Silly silly Colorado, your weather won't be missed.

Grey's Returns tomorrow!!!

And according to McDreamy, "What's better than sex? Anticipation." I can't wait! Here's a preview.

Wishful on Wednesday

Here are a few more things I want for my new place:
These pillows are adorable (if you can't tell I love pillows). I found them at Lush Designs England for 22 pounds or about $44 (I'm not sure if that conversion is correct).

I also absolutely love this condiment set. It would be so cut to set out for a BBQ and burgers. I might order it at the end of the week if I ever get money back from my Idaho trip. Found at Pottery Barn for $39.

Happy Earth Day

Do your part to keep it pretty: go green, recycle, turn your computer off when you walk away, turn the lights off when you leave a room, & carpool!

25 Tips For a Better Life from my grandma

1. Take a 20-30 min walk daily. Smile while you walk. It's the ultimate anti-depressant.
2. Sit in silence for at least 10 min each day. Buy a lock if necessary.
3. Each morning when you awake complete the following statement: "My purpose today is to ______."
4. Eat more foods that grow on plants, less of those made in Plants.
5. Drink green tea and plenty of water. Eat bluberies, wild Alaskan salmon, broccoli, almonds and walnuts.
6. Try to make at least 3 people smile each day.
7. Don't waste your energy on gossip, energy vampires, issues of the past, negative thoughts or things you cannot control. Instead, invest your energy in the positive, present moment.
8. Eat breakfast like a king, lunch like a prince and dinner like a college kid with a maxed out credit card.
9. Life is not fair, BUT it is still good.
10. Life is too short to waste time hating anyone.
11. Don't take yourself too seriously. Nobody else does!
12. Make peace with your past, so it won't spoil the present.
13. Don't compare your life to that of others. You have no idea what their journey is all about.
14. You don't have to win every argument. Sometimes you agree to disagree.
15. No one is in charge of your happiness except you.
16. Frame any "disaster" with these words,"Five years from now, will it matter?"
17. Forgive everyone for everything!
18. What other people think of you is none of your business.
19. GOD helps almost everything.... and He can heal everything if it's in his plan. We just need to trust His bigger picture.
20. However good or bad a situation is, it will change.
21 Your job won't take care of you when you're sick. You friends will. Stay in touch.
22. Envy is a waste of time. You already have everything you need.
23. Each night before you go to bed, complete the following statements: "I am thankful for ________. Today I accomplished ________."
24. Remember, you are too blessed to be stressed.
25. Tell the people you care about that you love them because that might be the last time they hear it.

Brain Cake

This is so up my alley! Hehe Have you ever wanted to make a brain cake to take to a party? Well now you can. Honestly I never thought about it until I found it today, and now I want to do it! Here is where you can find the recipe and step by directions to make this master piece. Its very detailed, with all of the cortexies of the brain, the different lobes, the brainstem, and you can even see the cerebellum. If you're not sure what I'm talking about it, read more here. The numbers represent the placement of EEG leads, which measure brain activity if you weren't sure what I was talking about. I sent this to my cognitive psychology teacher (who also teaches biopsychology) and she loved it. I knew she would.

Clinton Obama Debates

Is anyone as sick of these things as I am?
I don't like this time of year. The debates are ridiculous, mean, and they argue the same thing every time just in different mean ways. And once a democratic candidate is chosen, the democrat and republican start attacking each other in TV adds, billboards, and debates. Can it just be over already? Cashmire mafia wasn't on tonight because of the debates. Blah.

Virgina Tech One Year After the Masacre

Today is the one year anniversary of the Virginia Tech massacre that took 32 lives plus the shooter. Please keep the friends and families of the victims (and the shooter) and the students affected this tradgedy in your thoughts and prayers.

This collage of students and faculty killed on 16 April 2007 was the cover of time magazine.

To read up more on what happened that terrible day and what has happened in the last year just google "virginia tech". There are lots of results that pop up. Or you can check out this article I found here.

Miss Texas wins Miss USA

Crystle Stewart, 26 years old
She had to try 5 times before winning Miss Texas, persistence pays off!
Here she is saying a little thank you prayer as she was being crowned Miss USA Sunday night. She was on Good Morning America this morning and I think she is really cute. I hope she does well at the Miss Universe competition.

Sex & The City on Good Morning America

Tomorrow morning Cynthia Nixon (Miranda on STC) will be on Good Morning America on ABC. She will be talking about the upcoming movie but more importantly she will be talking about her personal battle with breast cancer. She's such a survior. Make sure to check it out tomorrow! And mark your calenders, the movie comes out May 30th!

Last Minute Tax Tips...time is running out

1. Turbo Tax (its worth the money & its free online for military)

4. Teachers get deductions (up to $250 for out of pocket costs)
5. College students can get deductions for tuition and books (up to $4,000)

Boise, Idaho

Tomorrow morning I'm leaving for Boise, Idaho. I'll be presenting my independent study project on sleep deprivation at the Rocky Mountain Psychological Association (RMPA) annual conference. This is a pretty big deal & I'm nervous. Wish me luck! I'll be presenting on Friday morning at 8am (mountain time). I am really excited to see the city, especially since it will be warmer the whole time I'm there than it is at school! Plus I'm missing 2 days of school. Whoo hoo! We are staying at a really nice hotel called hotel 43. Check it out here: Hotel 43 It also has a really nice restaurant and martini bar that we are going to on Friday night after the conference. Yea for Boise!!!

Sicky

Sorry I haven't posted in about a week (although I made up for it today). I've been under the weather with the flu since last Friday (I drug my sick butt out to go scrapbooking of course, but I've been sleeping every other chance I've had since then). Today I'm finally starting to feel better and I even went to class but I think I'm still running a fever because I have the chills. My throat isn't as swollen as it was Monday morning and I could actually eat today! Yea food! I need to be all better by this weekend for my presentation. Please pray for me to get my voice back and be feeling 100% by Friday morning.

Get In Shape, It's Not Too Late

I saw this on a friend of my friend's blog and had to check it out:

Go to Glamour.com to sign up for Body By Glamour and/or the 30 day Makeover!!

I did just today. It's time to get in shape for graduation and summer, which are quickly approaching!
The best thing is you don't have to diet, count carbs, take any pills, or starve yourself.
They compile work out and cardio plans for you and even show you how to do the excercises if you are unsure. They also provide you with meal plans or suggestions on what to eat.
The best part: it's all FREE. And you could win a trip to Hawaii just for signing up.
I sent this to my mom & sister. When you sign up, don't forget to add me as "buddy" and we can encourage each other through these next 30 days!

***Bargain Buy***

I'm so excited about this, I just had to share it with you. This weekend while I was scrapbooking, I made the best purchase I think I've made in my life: ribbon. But not just any ribbon, you must think I'm crazy. Really really nice scrapbook ribbon, for dirt cheap. See normally this Adornaments ribbon runs $6.99 each at Michael and $7.99 each at Archivers, but for some reason they had these in the hot spots bin at Archivers for $0.99-$1.99 each and I bought one of every color they had. If I would have bought these all at $6.99 each I would have spent $76.89 before tax, but I got them all for $20.89! I'm going to send half of each different strand of ribbon home to my mom, who also scrapbooks, because that is how we afford this expensive habbit. One person finds something really cute on sale and send half of it to the other. It works out great! Each of these boxes contain 3.25 yards of the 7 different fibers. I'm so excited about this because I use ribbon on just about every one of my scrapbook pages. Its my favorite accent and its so easy to add. Check out my awesome purchase:

Here are a few boxes up close so you can get an idea of the different kinds of ribbon in each box:

Now I have to go buy more storage for all of this. Oh well, I'm so happy about this find!
